Bahía Beach Murcia

One of the very best getaways for a beach vacation in Murcia is in hot Bahía Beach. With many diverse activities such as picnics, biking, boating, skateboarding, fishing, snorkelling and beach volleyball -everyone can get into the game and find something to enjoy. Even after the sun goes down, you’ll find something to do in or around Bahía Beach.

By the beach itself, there is a fantastic viewing platform called “Mirador del Cabezo del Gavilán” from which you can watch the beautiful views of Bahía Beach and around the bay of Mazarron. In the evening this place gets busy as many people like to enjoy the sunsets that give amazing light contrasts around the bay of Mazarron.

Even the briefest of family beach vacations to Bahía Beach should include a visit to the once prosperous mines of Puerto de Mazarron which now offer interesting guided tour visits to the sites of so many metal extractions like copper, iron, silver and more. Some of these mines date back to Roman times but they had a resurgence in the 19th and 20th centuries with fresh activity.

There are plenty of other things to do here besides the beach, which is perfect for families who want more to do than swim. Enjoy some leisurely time in the “chiringuitos” or beach bars both on Bahía Beach or surrounding areas where a cool “caña” (small draft beer) helps to quench the thirst of a hot day. For the kids, there are their favourite drinks and ice creams as well. Or the younger ones might like to play Football on the beach itself.

In the evenings, along the promenade, or by a short walk to the Port of Mazarron, there are many restaurants, bars and small shops by the sea that offer many types of souvenirs, clothes, shoes and mementoes of the area that you can treat yourself to remember your beautiful holiday in this area.

With a lot to offer you and a lot of things to do nearby, Bahía Beach is one of the best areas that the east coast of Murcia has to offer.  There is always something to do for your entire family, even if your family is hard to please. Bahía Beach is that good – and your family will soon see that!

There are Golf Courses nearby as well so, if you fancy a game in the marvellous golf courses nearby, that is something worthwhile to do too.

Or if Golf is not your thing, at least the “Gredas de Bolnuevo” which, you may find spectacular, are a short drive or walk away… “Gredas” are erosions of white clay, a mixture of silica and aluminium used often in pottery. During the local “fiestas” these rocks are the backdrop for rock concerts as well as official wedding photo sessions.

Some residents of the Signature Golf Course of Alhama de Murcia, 20 Km or so away, offer excellent accommodation that will allow you not only to enjoy their magnificent golf course but also to enjoy a short drive to this beautiful part of Murcia.
